Austin's passions outside of real estate include coaching football at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School and hunting. His other job is working at Armstrong Plumbing, and doing side jobs for people when he can.

Alan coached 22 seasons of Bishop Carroll football as a head coach with 15 of the seasons going to the play offs and two state championships. Alan has always been known as a family man. " I have four daughters (Kelsi, Kylie, Kassie, and Khloe) in four different cities, and I always preach families first and I need to take care of my own family".
"My legacy, I hope, is not wins. I hope it's the relationships I built with my former players and parents," Shuckman added. "I hope I have made them better people and gotten them a step closer to heaven."
